One thing that will strike readers right away is how easy the book is to read. The dark typeface stands out crisply against a pure white background. The color photos, too, seem particularly crisp. The writing, however, tries to be a little too bright, with unnecessary exclamation points. The book begins with a simple explanation of the game and follows with several-page-long profiles of players including David Beckham, Freddy Adu, and Kristine Lilly.
